Hey there, I'm David, but you can call me Dave N.A. This is a short story about what I’m doing. I've been lost in the world of electronic music production, mixing, and mastering for almost 11 years now—long enough to have accumulated a collection of questionable dance moves in my studio chair (in living room basically). A journey that began with some accidental success and a whole lot of panic! My first track landed on a top-notch German label called Avotre, and suddenly I was thrust into the world of "official releases." Picture me, wide-eyed and surrounded by synthesizers, wondering if I had accidentally stumbled into a DJ booth. After the initial shock wore off, I decided it was time to up my game. I dove into refining my sound, learning the ins and outs of mixing, and creating beats that didn't just sound like a cat playing with a drum machine (well, most of the time). In 2019 my buddy and I kicked off Medium Raw, where we dropped EPs like "Atlanta" and "Jungle Jim," featuring sick remixes by Merouj and Cast Coverts. We shared the love with friends and had a blast! Then I released "STRNGR" on Kepasaparadoks, and to my delight, it caught the ears of some of my favorite Bass and Jungle artists. Next was release on Aloka's Typeless Records Called “Solo Move” and I was super excited about it! Fast forward to 2024, and I teamed up with freq444 for a killer collab called "Altura" on their label no•id. It's been a wild ride, and I'm pumped for what's next. Over the past 8 years, I've been deep into co-production, which means I've become an expert at turning coffee and cigarettes into beats while collaborating with touring artists who graciously tolerate my caffeine-fueled creativity.
Co-producing with touring artists became my jam, quite literally. Mixing coffee with creativity became a survival skill as I delved deeper into the music biz. And you know what? Hearing my tunes on BBC Radio 1 and NTS Radio was a dream come true—a dream that nearly caused a fender bender when someone got too into shuffling to my beats in their car. I'm also part of the ABC community, on a mission to bring Breakbeat, Jungle, and Drum & Bass to our city's music scene together with friends. ABC is where the magic happens, a vibrant hub where enthusiasts gather to groove to pulsating rhythms and eclectic beats. We've been making waves by inviting some of our favorite artists from the UK and Belgium to join us. Picture this: Pessimist dropping intense vibes, Fixate keeping the energy high, Aloka bringing those Typeless Records feels, and of course, freq444 adding his signature flavor to the mix. Together with ABC, we are trying to keep the bass pumping and the city grooving! Nowadays, I'm on an experimental spree, collaborating with artists from genres that make my eyebrows raise higher than my basslines. The results? Well, you'll just have to wait and listen! Keep your ears peeled for some genre-bending magic coming your way by the end of the year. And if my music causes any more traffic incidents, well, at least it's making people move, right? As I continue this musical odyssey, I'm excited about what's next—more dance moves, more coffee, and hopefully more opportunities to make people smile with my beats.
